Terms of Use

Important: iCivic provides indicative information on wait times. This data is not a guarantee. Always consult official sources for critical decisions.
1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing the iCivic mobile app or the icivic.app website, you accept these terms of use as well as our privacy policy. If you do not accept these terms, please do not use the service.
2. Description of the service
iCivic is an information platform for wait times at Quebec public services. The service includes:
- Viewing real-time wait times (open data and community reports)
- AI-assisted wait-time predictions based on history
- Voluntary submission of wait-time reports
- Wait alerts and notifications (with consent)
- Assistance features powered by artificial intelligence
iCivic is currently in beta. The service is provided "as is" and may change without notice.
3. Registration and account
To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate information at registration
- Keep your password confidential
- Be responsible for all activity carried out from your account
- Be at least 14 years old. In accordance with Law 25 (Quebec), creating an account for a minor under 14 requires the consent of the holder of parental authority.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Submit false or misleading wait-time reports
- Use the service for commercial purposes without prior authorization
- Attempt to access iCivic systems in an unauthorized manner
- Automate access to the service (scraping, bots) without written agreement
- Harass other users or members of the iCivic team
- Circumvent security or rate-limiting measures
- Misuse the AI assistance features for purposes other than intended (data extraction attempts, illicit content)
5. Data accuracy
The wait times shown come from open data published by public bodies (notably the MSSS and Service Canada), from community reports, and from AI-generated predictions. iCivic is neither affiliated with nor mandated by these bodies. iCivic does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness or real-time updating of this data. Predictions ("best moment", trends) are statistical estimates, not commitments.
iCivic cannot be held responsible for any travel, delay in care or decision made on the basis of the information shown. Use this data for guidance only.
6. Artificial intelligence features
Some features (assistant, summaries) generate content using AI models. This content may contain errors or inaccuracies and constitutes neither medical advice, nor legal advice, nor a commitment by iCivic. Do not share sensitive personal information in conversation areas. Data processing by these features is described in the privacy policy.
7. Community contributions
By submitting a wait-time report, you:
- Certify that the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge
- Grant iCivic a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use this information in the service
- Accept that your contribution is anonymous and aggregated in our statistics
8. Intellectual property
The name "iCivic", the logo, the app source code, and all original content of the service are the exclusive property of iCivic. Any reproduction without authorization is prohibited.
Wait-time data from government sources remains the property of their respective issuers and is used in accordance with their open licenses.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law — and without limiting the rights granted to you by any public-order law, including the Consumer Protection Act (Quebec) — iCivic cannot be held responsible for:
- Any loss or damage resulting from the use of (or inability to use) the service
- The inaccuracy of the wait times shown or of AI-generated content
- Any service interruption
- Any content submitted by third parties
10. Services for institutions (B2G)
Access to the institutional dashboard and the iCivic API by organizations (healthcare facilities, public bodies, integrators) is governed by separate terms of service and, where applicable, by a written agreement including a data processing agreement (DPA).
11. Changes to the service
iCivic reserves the right to modify, suspend or discontinue all or part of the service at any time, with reasonable notice where possible.
12. Termination
You can delete your account at any time from the app (Profile → Delete my account) or by contacting contact@icivic.app. iCivic may suspend or terminate your access in the event of a breach of these terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the province of Quebec and the applicable federal laws of Canada. Any dispute will be submitted to the jurisdiction of the courts of Quebec, district of Gatineau.
